Obama Seeks Support For Health Care Bill

President Barack Obama tried to gain support for local health legislation in the evening on July 22 as Congress struggled to find agreement on a historic improvement. He vowed to reject any measure "primarily funded through tax middle class families."

Obama defended the decision to set a deadline for mid-summer the House and Senate to act. "I'm in a hurry because I get letters every day from families who were clobbered by the health care costs, and they asked me to help," he said.

According to Obama, In addition to helping millions of people who lack coverage, health care legislation is central to the ultimate objective of rebuilding the economy stronger than before the recession that began more than a year ago.

Medicare and Medicaid is government health care programs for the elderly and poor. If health care is not reformed, premiums and out-of-pocket costs will continue to skyrocket.
